Welcome

Thank you for visiting our website!

The Constitution of the United States of America was written in 1787 and went into effect in 1789. George Washington became President of the United States in 1789. One year later, in 1790 four men from Virginia crossed the Potomac and started preaching the gospel in the Nanjemoy area. To learn more about our history, click on the Historical tab above.

The mother church of the Baptist movement in Maryland is Nanjemoy Baptist Church. The church was established in 1793, therefore making it one of the oldest and continuous Baptist Churches in the state of Maryland. Through the years Nanjemoy Baptist has planted churches in Charles, St. Mary's and Calvert Counties and sent out Pastors & Missionaries. God has blessed us tremendously.

Here you will find information concerning our church and its ministries. We hope you find your time spent here a blessing. Our church is a warm and loving church, and we want you to feel comfortable and at liberty to call on us for anything you need. Feel free to browse through the various areas of our website and learn about our fellowship.

If you are considering relocating to our area, we would love to have you be our guest for Sunday School and worship.

When you visit our church, you will find:

  • A caring congregation that will gladly welcome you
  • Preaching/teaching that is centered on the Word of God
  • Ministries to meet the spiritual needs of every age
  • A corporate outlet for truth-filled and moving praise and worship

 In Christ,

Pastor Michael C. Spencer
